Man……it is REAL cold in New York this week, which makes me miss summer even more so than ever. The seaside, sundress, relaxed aimless stroll on a tree lined street, picnic, ice cream sandwich, lemonade, biking, ocean breeze…..seriously, I can go on and on about it and never stop. You get the idea, I am not exactly a winter person. Period.
Feeling a bit nostalgic for the summer days and a great family trip we took in the sunny SoCal last year…

Happy holidays my friends.
This picture reminds me of a cozy winter dinner at home that is full of good conversation, laughter and the warm ambiance shared amongst family and friends in the season of gathering.

Today is one of those gloomy snow day. The sky is really dark and grey, and the snow is slushy and tiny - the kind of snow that’s already melted before it even touches the ground. However, while it’s cold as heck outside, this makes it the perfect kind of day to brew a pot of tea, snuggle in a wooly throw and read a good book - lucky enough, today I am able to do just that.
My couch company today is a recent favorite of mine - The Natural Home by Hans Blomquist. I have been reading it over and over in the past few months but just can never seem to have enough of it. It still brings me as much inspiration as when I opened the book for the first time. The photography inside is beautiful and tasteful while the styling is simply impeccable - it never ceases to amaze me how organic and uncontrived it is.
I am particularly drawn to all the muted tones and the harmonious displays. Despite the different styles, all the homes in the book share the same sense of tranquility in its own way. Reading the book almost feels like having a yoga session for the eyes, as it brings in such calmness and peace through the pages.
I would think that’s exactly the kind of feeling one should have whilst reading a book by the window on a snowy day, wouldn’t you agree?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope you all had some time to digest the bird, pie, stuffing or in my case, fried chicken & biscuits, that just got stuffed in our stomachs.
This year, we had an intimate Thanksgiving dinner at home with friends, which allowed a “semi-proper” dining setting for a change - if you are like us living at an apartment in New York city, then you know that’s a rare treat. For the most parts, entertaining at home often does not involve an actual sit-down meal as most of our apartments don’t fit any dining table that seats more than 6 nor its chair friends.
Most importantly, at the dinner table being surrounded by dear friends, I was truly thankful for a great year we had. Pishkin seemed to be enjoying a mellow grown-up Thanksgiving night too in her blanket - see picture above for proof.
And I am happy that she is happy.

I just can’t wait no more to show you guys the full gallery of Megan and Mark’s wedding - an opulent event that is nothing short of glamour and quirk, see it here.
It was one magical night, truly.
When hundreds of candles lit up a historical antique-warehouse-turned mansion, the richness of art and history from the surrounding transformed this black-tie wedding into a dreamy fete from Victorian era while the urban New York city background kept the spirits high.
Of course, only a kick-ass team could pull off such loveliness.
